28 Jun 2012Debuting today, with loans docs still fresh, is this 1916 California Bungalow in Highland Park. Purchased in April 2012 for $305k, it features new systems and mainly cosmetic upgrades. If you’re like me, after a while, all flips look the same with by the paint-by-numbers kitchens, stainless appliances and more deer horn decor than you can shake a stick at.

1924 California Bungalow at a Frogtown Price
25 Jun 2012Debuting today is a 1924 California Bungalow in the Elysian Valley. Located in Frogtown, its been completely redone with new systems, floors, kitchen, bath and landscaping. Priced at $359k, it’s hard not to notice. Next to the L.A. River, it was nicknamed “Frogtown” in the 1930s after a toad explosion (not frogs) invaded the neighborhood, covered the streets and lawns. It happened again in the ’60s and ’70s before getting flood controlled. While this neighborhood resembles an abandoned industrial town at times, if you believe the hype, its the hot new place to be with a lush natural landscape and booming art scene.
