Northeast LA
All about the neighborhoods of Highland Park, Eagle Rock, Mt. Washington, Glassell Park and Cypress and why you should think about living there. Aside from being a massive nest for character homes, these communities are bubbling with personality, have some of the coolest bars/restaurants in LA and thriving art scenes.
My observations from living in Highland Park for 3 years: you’re likely to love Northeast LA if you love live music, the Downtown LA Art Walk, food truck hopping, dive bars, animal rescue groups, diversity, SF’s Mission District, and drive a Prius or have a ZipCar membership. You’re also likely to love Silver Lake, Echo Park and Koreatown–but not the sticker shock that goes along with those pretty established hoods.
