Debuting today is a character-oozing 1926 English Cottage in Eagle Rock. Perched high on a winding street, it maintains a ton of original pizzazz, even though it’s a much-bemoaned flip. Unrecognizable at $489k, it sold in July 2012 for $312k.

Debuting today, with loans docs still fresh, is this 1916 California Bungalow in Highland Park. Purchased in April 2012 for $305k, it features new systems and mainly cosmetic upgrades. If you’re like me, after a while, all flips look the same with by the paint-by-numbers kitchens, stainless appliances and more deer horn decor than you can shake a stick at.

Got a chance to preview this gorgeous 1923 Craftsman in Highland Park that makes its official debut this weekend. Far from a cheapy flip, many original details have been restored rather than ripped out. Kudos to the developer, a seasoned contractor with an eye for detail and character preservation.
