Looking for things to do in L.A. this weekend? Hooray cinephiles and KBBQ enthusiasts! Whip out the legwarmers and Aquanet 80’s babies! Friday Night Flicks at Pershing Square is back with an homage to the 80s through May 31. Tonight at 8PM, catch the trials of Andie Walsh in John Hughes’ masterpiece, “Pretty in Pink” on a 20 ft. screen.
On Saturday, head down to Exposition Park because Street Food Cinema returns with their arsenal of food trucks, live music and jumbo screen. For opening night, they’ve pulled out all the stops with a screening of “Stand By Me” and live music by Corey Feldman! Bring your AeroBed, blankets, picnic baskets and cash, admission is $10-15.
On Sunday, I’ll actually shed a tear knowing that I’ll miss a quintessentially L.A. version of a Memorial Day barbeque. Susan Feniger’s Street is throwing a KBBQ pop-up shop for Korean BBQ connoisseurs. For $45 ($35 if you buy today), you’ll get to imbibe at the sake/soju lounge and savor short ribs (galbi). Tears. Have a great holiday weekend!
