19th Annual YMCA Stair Climb: Motivated yet?

It’s going to be another hot one Los Angeles! Here are some of the best, non-boring things to do in L.A.’s Eastside for the weekend of 9/28/12 to 9/30/12. Today, join 3400 Angelenos to sweat and look awesome for a great cause in DTLA!

From the Organizers: Have you ever wondered what Los Angeles looks like from the tallest building West of the Mississippi? Join 3,400 participants as they race to the top of the U.S. Bank Tower. Hope St. will be shut down for food trucks, music, a beer garden and more!

Admission to the block party is FREE, so even if you don’t participate in the climb, you can still bring your friends and celebrate. Proceeds benefit community programs at the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA.

From the Organizers: The Moon Festival has been celebrated by the Chinese for over 3,000 years. Catch lion dancers, hands-on workshops, art gallery openings, food trucks, artisans, ghost storytelling, ping pong tournaments. Chinatown bakeries will provide complimentary moon cakes and restaurants will be on hand with FREE samples!

As the moon starts to rise above the horizon, attendees will get a chance to view the bright harvest moon using state-of-the-art telescopes provided by Griffith Observatory.

Sunday, 9/30/12: Pasadena’s Wiggle Waggle Walk

Pasadena: 14th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk

From the Organizers: Join thousands of animal lovers and their canine companions at the 14th Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk at Brookside Park benefiting the Pasadena SPCA and Humane Society. A family fair and pet expo featuring a variety of pet products, free samples, K9 demonstrations and contests.

Registration is free and fundraising is encouraged! Your efforts help provide quality food, safe shelter, and veterinary care for the 12,000 animals the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA cares for every year.
