This is what 390 sq. ft. can look like when done right

Apartment Therapy is on the hunt for the coolest, small homes. The 8th Annual Small/Cool is a month-long competition that looks for smartly designed, beautiful spaces under 1000 sq. ft. Compact doesn’t have to mean cramped and cluttered, but “big” and beautiful. Readers are encouraged to submit, vote and share. Entries accepted until 4/17/12. Voting begins today. Grand prize winner will be announced 5/1 and will receive $5000 in cash and new iPad!

The light! I face south, and have windows across the length of the apartment. The sun fills the whole place.

Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space?
The biggest challenge is definitely the space. in 390 sq. ft., I can’t afford to keep clutter in a space this small, so I keep only what makes me happy.
