Friday, 2/1/13: The Silver Lake Chorus
Looking for things to do in L.A. this weekend? Kick off your weekend with a “symphonious blend of joy-mongering” with the Eastside’s own Silver Lake Chorus performing tonight at Occidental College’s beautiful Herrick Chapel…for FREE!
Rocking choral arrangements of indie music since early 2010, they’ve delighted audiences with their exuberance and independent spirit. Artists like Sia, Aimee Mann and The Bird and the Bee have all penned tracks for TSLC’s upcoming album.
The Great Highland Park Taco Crawl
Join a hundred or so of the Eastside’s most rabid Yelpers as they hit 5 or more taco stands during a 0.5 mile stroll. Stops include La Estrella, El Pique, Tacos de Pelon and celebratory shenanigans at The York.
From the Organizers: We will be at La Estrella for 20 minutes. Drive eastbound on York until you see a huge group of people who clearly do not belong.
Saturday, 2/2/13: Lunar New Year Festival
From the Organizers: Join us for the 3rd annual Pan-Asian celebration of the Lunar New Year. Watch multicultural performances on stage, see visiting artists share the art of paper cutting, lantern making, sugar art, cloth art, Chinese knotting and Suzhou silk art.
Food Trucks: Mighty Boba, India Jones, Mandoline Grill, Paradise Cookies and more!
Sunday, 2/3/12: Superbowl – Avoid or Partake
Avoid the obnoxious sports bars and check out delicious food. Want to avoid the SB while sipping on a handcrafted cocktail? Mosey on over to The Thirsty Crow in Silver Lake. You’ll find lots of bourbon and not a screen or jersey in sight.
