Odd Nights: Be Ready to Eat, Imbibe and Shop
20 Jul 2016Odd Nights at the Autry is probably my favorite thing to do this summer because it involves gloriously beautiful Griffith Park, tons of food trucks, a full bar for me, craft beers for him, 100 mom n’ pop vendors, and live music on a sprawling grassy lawn to take it all in — FOR FREE! Seriously, this is the best return on FREE I’ve gotten in a really long time!

Papillon Bakery’s Sugar Dusted Mouth Crack
07 Mar 2016A few weeks after giving birth, our friend Ruth stopped by to visit bearing the obligatory price of admission to see the newborn–food. However, this wasn’t just any food. It was donut mouth crack with a generous dusting of powdered sugar called ponchik from Papillon International Bakery in Glendale.

Sitting right off the railroad tracks in Atwater – you can actually see them pass periodically from the dining patio – was a modern Mediterranean visual and gastronomic feast for the eyes and taste buds.
